Delays, discouragement, debilitation

A week after our intended departure and we're still working on stuff. I have always hated moving. I've done it enough, you'd think I'd learn. But it's more than that. We are making every effort to put the house in the best condition possible for sale and that has forced us to spend a lot more time overcoming obstacles than we'd expected. Still, not to be thwarted, we continue and are nearing the final completion. The broken glass for the patio door had to be ordered and is now going to be here Monday morning. We are expecting that to be the final activity. This weekend is final cleanup and start packing the vehicles with what we will be traveling with. For those of you who were wondering if we were ever going to get away from this place, that should come as welcome news.

So. What are the travel plans?

Once we depart here, we'll stop in the Portland area to visit with family and then roll on down the coast. We'll be taking the scenic path. None of this "high-speed inland throroughfare" for us. We want to stop to see the Redwoods and generally enjoy the coastal sites. I'll try to keep daily updates at that point but we'll have to see.
