I have another site set up with a blog but decided I would continue to use this one for general posts. My other site is http://www.wonderwell.net. There I discuss the various aspect of Technology. I'll return to using this blog for everything else.
So what is everything else? Since there were a few people that faithfully followed my endless meandering diatribes I will continue to entertain you in this blogsphere space. It's been so long that I've posted here I imagine most people have given it up as dead. Well... it was. But, for the reasons I just stated, I've decided to resurrect it. Hope you enjoy.
Here's some boring details about what I've been up to since the last time I posted here.
Looking back over past posts it seems I never mentioned that my job at the ARC was only short term. I had been interviewing and subsequently got hired by ITT Systems in Colorado Springs. This is a large, international company that is primarily a DoD contractor, for those that don't know. I've been with them since early 2005 and the work has been rewarding. I started out as a Maintenance Tech, maintaining and repair the rather old computer systems that are installed at a support facility on Peterson Air Force Base. Continual opportunities opened for me and I am now a Unix System Administrator and have been taking on senior technology responsibilities. What's System Administrator? Something like your auto mechanic -- we keep the systems up to date, properly configured, and running smooth. When my users have problems with the system, they come to me. This does not currently include fixing the hardware, however. A good thing. I have my hands full.
I'm still a member of Reflection and currently we're looking forward to the Christmas season, preparing a number of new songs for this wonderful time of year. Our current schedule calls for us to sing at Christmas in Divide (Summit Elementary School) at noon on the 14th of November and at WPCC on the 20th of December. We also have a private engagement at the Swiss Chalet in town on the 5th. There may be others before the season is over.
We bought a house a couple of years ago that has proven to be a challenge. (aren't all houses?) It's larger than the one we rented previously and just down the street from there. We've put a lot of energy into fixing a number of things (usually discovered when you least expect it), and the place is looking much nicer as a result.
There's a lot of other things I could probable think of eventually. For now, that about wraps it up.
